A HUD(Head Up Display) for athletic swimmers to improve their swimming techniques. Swimmers will be able to monitor their statistics, and progression through the HUD within the lens of the goggles.

When researching a method for the problem, I have discovered a product called SMART GOGGLES, manufactured by FORM Swim
SMART GOGGLES display information with typographythrough the direct lens
Critique – information displayed on direct lens can interfere with swimmer's view of environment
SWIMMING EXPERIENCE
As a swimmer, I have some difficulty identifying mistakes that are being made on my part without the guidance and advice from a swimming coach.
Especially when I was doing a swimming drill, since my priority is focused on completing the drill under a specific time

When brainstorming through concepts for how the project should look, I wanted to have an aquatic look, while having some electronic components.
SKETCHES
Originally, I wanted to focus the project to having 3D elements.
Instead, I focused on using meters and simple shapes to communicate information to the user.
ORIGINAL CONCEPTS
Originally, a 3D model would mimic the user's movements to accurately show the mistakes a user is making during a drill. However, due to how much space the animation takes up, the concept was scrapped.
VISUAL MAPS
When brainstorming through concepts of swimming, based on my experience as a swimmer, I have considered the idea that the information for swimmers displayed on the distortion on each lens. Therefore, the information can be displayed to a user that won't disrupt their concentration on completing a drill.
IMAGINE RIT EVENT
I presented my project at IMAGINE RIT event on April 29, 2023. The project is well received from general audience and professional designers.
